CM Buzdar Announces Mega Development Projects For DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) ::Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Friday announced a number of mega development projects here, bringing the first ever biggest development thrust to Dera Ghazi Khan, an area that had remained a victim of neglect for decades during the regime of past governments.
During his maiden visit to DG Khan after assuming charge as chief minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar announced all the upgraded basic facilities for Dera Ghazi Khan matching the developed cities of the province including Water And Sanitation Agency (WASA), Solid Waste Management Company, small dams, super model cattle market, institute of cardiology, special maternity ambulance service for women, technical university, colleges and schools.
Soon after his arrival, CM Buzdar drove straight to District Headquarters Hospital where he inaugurated two mobile health units and three ambulances for the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Usman Buzdar said that like Multan, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Wazirabad, an institute of cardiology would be established in DG Khan. He said that 193,000 families of the district would be provided Insaf Health Cards this year.
He said that 26 women medical officers had joined duties in various hospitals of the district to meet the shortage of doctors. He said that quota for admission in Ghazi Medical College for the students of Tribal areas was being increased and they would be able to avail the facility from next year.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was briefed that construction of new block at DHQ Hospital having capacity of 400 beds would be completed till June 30, 2019 and funds of Rs 620 millions were being spent on the project.
He was informed that more wards including cardiology, gyne and others would also be constructed in future while ICU would also be upgraded soon.
Later, addressing the delegations of members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Bar Associations, chamber of commerce, local body representatives, traders and locals, CM Buzdar said the government would establish three universities and one of them would be set up in DG Khan.
He also announced funds of Rs 1.7 billion for the construction of new campus of Ghazi University.
He said that buses would be provided to 12 colleges of the area to provide facility of transport to the students. He said that Primary schools would also be established at various areas and facilities of playgrounds and others would be provided in 10 schools. He also announced that astroturf would be laid at DG Khan hockey ground with funds of Rs 50 millions, adding that not only cricket stadium would be upgraded but training academy would also be established at DG Khan with the help of Pakistan Cricket board (PCB).
CM Buzdar said that community centre would be established for families at Officer Club and funds of Rs 260 millions were being provided for establishment of solid waste management company and WASA departments in DG Khan.
He said that bailout package would be given to DG Khan municipal corporation to early solution of public issues.
