Code Of Conduct: Candidate's Video To Be Sent To Forensic Lab

Deputy Commissioner/District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Thursday ordered for sending the video footage of NA-186 candidate Haroon Sultan Bukhari to forensic laboratory for analysis.
MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jul, 2018 ) :Deputy Commissioner/District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Thursday ordered for sending the video footage of NA-186 candidate Haroon Sultan Bukhari to forensic laboratory for analysis.
The DMO also directed the candidate, a former provincial minister, to appear in person on July 12.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) taken serious notice of a video clip relayed as news by a news channel, wherein the candidate was reportedly shown telling people in tehsil Jatoi not to vote for female candidates and had allegedly declared it 'Haram' i.e. forbidden. The ECP observed that the declaration was a violation of the Elections Act, 2017 and the Code of Conduct.
The ECP had directed the DMO to issue show-cause notice to the candidate and proceed in accordance as per law.
Subsequently, Khalid Javed Bukhari, the counsel representing the candidate appeared before the DMO and submitted the statement of Syed Haroon Sultan Bukhari in which he stated that he respects all men and women and that his statement on social media was presented by opponents in a way to make it look like a violation.
The DMO ordered for sending the video clip to forensic laboratory for analysis and directed that the candidate should appear in person before the DMO on July 12.
