Concrete Measures Taken To Ensure Protection Of Minorities' Rights: Shireen Mazari

Federal Minister for Human Rights, Dr Shireen M Mazari Thursday said that concrete steps were taken through comprehensive strategy to ensure protection of rights of minorities.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Human Rights, Dr Shireen M Mazari Thursday said that concrete steps were taken through comprehensive strategy to ensure protection of rights of minorities.
Talking to the representative delegation of minorities here, the minister said that the constitution guarantees protection of human rights including the rights of minorities, a press release issued by the Ministry of Human Rights here said.
She said that the government was fully committed to protect the due rights of minorities to ensure their freedom and security, adding improving their socio-economic status was one of the governments' top priorities.
She said that constitution of Pakistan guarantees human rights protection and Ministry of Human Rights ensured it implementations.
The minister said that all the minorities in Pakistan were enjoying complete freedom as equal citizen of the beloved nation.
Matters related to the rights of minorities including the laws and rules for their protection also came under discussion and members of delegation also put forward suggestions in this regard.
The delegation was informed about the implementations of laws, policy and measures.
The delegation members appreciated the endeavours of government especially the Ministry of Human Rights for the Protection and promotion of rights of minorities and assured their full support in this regard.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Rabiya Javeri Agha and other officials of the ministry.
