District Admin Prepares SOPs For Salt Factories

PESHAWAR, Jan.06 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : District administration Peshawar has prepared SOPs (Standard Operation Procedure) for salt factories and directed their proprietors to follow them strictly.

In this connection, a meeting held here with Acting Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Mahmood in the chair. The officials of the district administration, Town-III and officials of health and education department attended.

The participants of the meeting briefed the Acting Deputy Commissioner in detail regarding salt factories. The meeting prepared SOPs for salt factories under which salt factories in the district will be registered and unregistered factories will face stern action.

The meeting decided that Education Department will run awareness campaign in the people regarding clean salt. The factories will have to mention ingredients of its product on their packages along with manufacturing and expiring date.

Similarly, under the SOPs, the mentioning of name of factory, its address and phone number will be mandatory and there will be complete ban on un-iodized salt. The district administration along with the officials of the concerned departments will conduct visits to factories and to take stern action against the violators.
