District Administration Takes Preemptive Measures To Cope With Floods, Emergencies During Monsoon

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2018 ) :The district administration of Peshawar has taken preemptive measures to cope with emergencies including floods and land sliding during monsoon season and in this regard also set up a control room for gathering all relevant information.
According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Ali Khan.
The meeting, held in pursuance of directives of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, was attended by Commissioner, Mugheez Sanaullah, District education Officer, Jaddi Khan Khalil, Deputy District Health Officer, Dr. Ikhtiar Ali, District Director Livestock, Dr.
Masoom Ali, Rescue Emergency Officer, Arif Ali, DE Social Welfare, Younas Afridi, Incharge DDMUDC Office, Haseeb-ur-Rehman and officials of Irrigation, Civil Defence, Wapda, Town Municipal Officers, Local Government etc.
The participants of the meeting apprised Deputy Commissioner that their departments have already taken all important measures to cope with floods and other emergencies during monsoon. Relevant staff has also been deputy to different areas, they added.
During the meeting it was also decided to set up a control room in the office of Deputy Commissioner which will remain functional round the clock for receiving and sharing of information about any emergency.
People are also advised to forthwith inform control room at number (1052) for any emergency in their respective area.
The staff of Irrigation department has been directed to keep vigil on river flows round the clock and submit report about river flow andheight of water to concerned department on daily basis. The Rescue departmentwill keep its machinery and boats ready for quick response to any emergency.
