Education, Research Job Improved At SAU After Signing MoUs With Int'l Organizations

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th August, 2016) : The management of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam is confident that quality education and research facility has been improved in the campuses during last one year after signing of series of Memorandum of Understandings with national and international organizations. The university management had signed 10 MoUs five each for national and international organizations and also organized different research activities of research and capacity building programmes in collaboration with the technological advanced countries with the view to make the faculty and the students up to date with advanced learning in the field of research. As a part of commitment, the university sources informed Saturday that the management also collaborated with the Australian team and implemented six projects under the MoUs signed through the agriculture sector linkage programme.
The implementation of MoU was also signed with USAID supported Agribusiness Supported Fund (ASF) whereby 1050 farmers trained in Chili Production and Value Chain with participation in research activities for mutual benefit of the university and stakeholders. Besides, the university management also organized more than 70 outreach activities including seminars, workshops while over three thousand participants particularly coastal and Thar area farmers were trained in various training programmes with aim to build their knowledge economy gap.
The university management in collaboration with Sindh Coastal Development Authority and FELDA Global Venture Malaysia also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DALDA Foods (PVT) Ltd with objective to conduct research and development activities for the promotion of oil palm plantation in coastal areas of the province for domestic production, the spokesman informed. In the recent past, the university management had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with WAPDA to establish framework of agreement for implementation of joint research and exchange of technical expertise for sustainable land and water management in Sindh. The university intends to generate and disseminate technology in the 25 well defined focused areas of research and allied activities which have been ingrained in the development plan of the university. The future plan of the management is aimed at to strengthen and consolidate the university resources and facilities and restructure the departments into target oriented units and institutes to provide effective and efficient utilization of resources and enabling environment for education and research.
