Experts Recommends Maximum Investments In Water, Food, Energy Sectors

Recommending maximum investment in water, food and energy sectors, experts and scholars have emphasized on adoption of latest, low cost, accessible and environment friendly alternate sources of energy those could help addressing issues faced by the countrymen.
They made such recommendations at the 5th three day world conference on "Sustainable development in energy and environment" organised by Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro on Thursday.
The recommendations of experts and scholars also underlined the need of maximum research for opening new vistas in water, food and energy sectors. Besides, they also recommended initiating such projects which could control issue of green house effects posing great threat to life on earth.
The experts also expressed grave concern over the disposal of waste and plastic goods into sea and recommended effective legislation for preservation of marine life. They also underlined the need of introducing electric and solar energy vehicles in order to control environmental pollution in the country.
In order to meeting the energy crisis, the experts underlined the need of preparation of a comprehensive national energy policy with introduction of environment friendly sources of energy.
They also emphasised the need of introducing latest technology including automatic meter reading and smart grids to discourage power stealing.
The experts and scholars also underlined the need of exchange of technologies as well as introduction of technical training and capacity building courses under China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.
They also recommended launching of joint venture between the higher learning institutions and industrial organisations in order to combine efforts for the development of the country.
They also emphasised the need of launching projects of water treatment plants as well as provision of safe drinking water to the countrymen.
Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Shaikh who was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the conference on Thursday assured that all recommendations put forward by the participants of the conference would be implemented in letter and spirit.
The minister said that Sindh Energy Project recently approved by the Federal government would be completed with technical support of the experts of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology.
