FBR resolves 6,000 complaints filed on Pakistan Citizens Portal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2019 ) :The Federal board of Revenue (FBR) has resolved about 6,000 complaints out of 6,864 which were filed on the Pakistan Citizens Portal from October 28 last year till now about the different departments of FBR.

Talking to APP, an FBR official said out of remaining 864 complaints, 650 were new whereas 214 were in the process of being redressed.

He said some 741 complaints were received about policy related matters and 1,300 about custom related issues.

The official said most of the public complaints were related to imposition of custom duty on mobile phones according to which Pakistanis coming from overseas had to register their mobile phones.

According to the policy Pakistanis coming from overseas were allowed to bring five phones with them. One phone would be allowed to be registered for free whereas the individual would have to pay tax on the rest four sets.

The official said facilitation desks had already been established at airports where the phones could be registered.

He said the FBR had shown great performance to resolve the complaints. The Bureau was committed to facilitate the people and would continue to work in the larger interest of the country.
