Govt Providing Free Medical Facilities Through Health Cards: Saira

VEHARI, Feb 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Feb, 2018 ) ::Federal Minister For National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar Friday said the government was committed to providing the best health facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
She expressed these views while addressing as a chief guest at Health Card distribution ceremony, organised under the Prime Minister National Health programme here. She said the poor people, through health cards, could avail for themselves free treatment facility at any private hospital on panel under the programme.
The government has improved the standard of public hospitals to compete with private hospitals, the minister added. Ms Saira said health card programme was, in fact, the vision of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which has now become the biggest welfare project in Asia.
She said no one could raise finger at transparency of the project worth billions of rupees.
The health card holders could get the free treatment of all the ailments including cancer, heart issues and delivery cases, she said and added that the transportation expenditures of the patients from home to hospital and then from hospital to home would also be borne by the government.
Speaking on the occasion, PML-N Member National Assembly (MNA) Tehmina Daultana said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif always steered the country out of crises, adding that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would always be remembered with his name.
She said hundreds of Thousands people were availing free medical facilities in the public hospitals of Punjab due to the policies of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
