Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani Thursday said the government was trying to streamline all the institutions and was taking steps to eliminate menace of corruption form them.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was in favour of ongoing accountability process against the corrupt people and taking steps to bring back the looted money of the country. He said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was doing good job against corruption and added there is a need to make it more stronger and efficient to curb the evils of corruption from the country.
Replying to a question regarding the NAB inquiries against political leaders, he said all the cases of corruption against Sharif family and the leaders of Pakistan People Party were started during tenure of PML-N government and the PTI government has not framed these cases against them.
He further said NAB was a completely independent institution and the government has nothing to do with its matters.
Responding to another question regarding the Public Account Committee (PAC), he said personally he was not in favour to appoint Shehbaz Sharif as head of PAC and added that the government shows great flexibility for smooth functioning of the Parliament to leave the decision on the Opposition Leader to decide himself about the PAC Chairman.
