Ground Realities To Be Key Factors For Launching New Project In City Lahore

Public requirements, ground realities and local conditions would be the key factors for launching new development projects in Lahore for the benefit of the maximum people
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman S.M. Imran said this while briefing media during a visit to Shakam Chowk, Canal Road, on Tuesday.
He said that prolonged traffic jams and long queues of vehicles at Shahkam Chowk were a routine matter which was bothersome for thousands of commuters daily crossing this point.
He said that LDA has proposed construction of a dual carriage way flyover at this point and two proposals have been prepared for this purpose.
The vice chairman said that construction of a two lane flyover would cost Rs 1.92 billion whereas construction of a three lane flyover would cost Rs 2.25 billion.
He said that this project would be completed under the Annual Development Programme of the Punjab government. He added that widening and improvement of 4.7 kilometer long stretch of Defence road, from Labour Colony to Shahkam Chowk would also be carried out at a cost of Rs 850 million.
Later, the Vice Chairman visited Joprray Pull in Allama Iqbal Town where people were facing difficulties in the flow of traffic. LDA would carry out improvement and construction of these two bridges at a cost of Rs 40 million.
