HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2018 ) :The office bearers of Abadgar Action Committee have announced staging of sit in and protest demonstrations at Hyderabad Bypass if the government failed to supply irrigation water to growers of the city within next two days.
Addressing a news conference here at Press Club on Saturday, the chairman Abadgar Action Committee Aurangzeb Khan, Haji Ghulam Ali Kori, Abdul Rehman Khoso, Nazimuddin Arain and others informed that the growers whose agriculture fields are situated in the command area of Hyderabad Branch have lost billions of rupees as they failed to sow crops due to non availability of irrigation water because of illegal cuts made in the branch by influential landlords of the area.
They told that growers of Husri, Rahuki, Saeed Khan and other distributaries of Hyderabad Branch were facing acute shortage of water as they alleged that the influential landlords with the support of the employees of irrigation departments had made around ten cuts at different points, which ultimately stopped onward supply of water.
They said that Hyderabad is the agricultural hub and if such practice continued, it would completely destroy the agriculture of the area. The government should unearth such illegal cuts and ensure supply of irrigation water at the tail end of the distributaries of the branch within next two days, they demanded and warned that if the government failed to do so, the growers will stage sit in and protest demonstration at Hyderabad Bypass till the acceptance of the demand.
