District administration decided to restore and conserve historical buildings on priority in order to promote tourism in the district

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2019 ) -: District administration decided to restore and conserve historical buildings on priority in order to promote tourism in the district.

This was decided in a meeting with officials of archeology department here on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Aamir Khattak said that Multan was over 5000 years old historic city with number of buildings,shrines etc. and to restore these buildings would help promote tourism.

He directed the officials to contact archeology experts from across the world for restoration and conservation of these buildings.

He was also informed that a summary about dilapidated buildings will be sent to Punjab government for making these safe and secure for the dwellers.

The DC was apprised that Haram Gate and Sarafa Bazaar were restored into their original shape in line with Walled City Project,initiated with cooperation of Italian government.

The DC directed officials of MEPCO, Sui gas, and WASA to ensure underground supply of services in the interior city.
