Inter Global Human Development Society (IGHDS) Observes "World Science Day"

Inter Global Human Development Society (IGHDS) on Wednesday observed "World Science Day" to create public awareness about the benefits of science, at Kojhi hall of the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur.

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) :Inter Global Human Development Society (IGHDS) on Wednesday observed "World Science Day" to create public awareness about the benefits of science, at Kojhi hall of the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur.

The purpose of celebrating this event was to mark the global solidarity for promotion of science and technology in order to create sustainable environments and combat with challenges for a prosperous and safer world.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Director Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Sukkur, Irfan Shaikh said the science education must be enhanced in the country and rural communities must be reached; PSF is putting serious efforts in collaboration with UNESCO and other partner organisations to develop science education infrastructure in rural and far flung areas.

The Chief Coordination Officer, IGHDS, Keenjhar Nazeer said it is an important time for all of us to practically take measures against noxious challenges to which we are posed to like biodiversity reduction, climate change, food security, and energy. It is pertinent to mention that science and technological development is the only way we can head towards sustainable future, she added.

President, Press Club Khairpur, Khan Muhammad said the Science Day helps all of us to refresh our ambitions of boosting science and technology education all over the world especially in the vulnerable developing districts like Khairpur.

A large number of teachers, students and media persons were present on the occasion.
