Islamabad breathes healthy ambience after days of polluted air

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :The Federal capital on Tuesday was breathing healthy ambience as the hazardous environment pollutants' ratio had been recorded the lowest of the season.

According to the daily Ambient Air Quality Report of the federal capital recorded by the Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (PAK-EPA), the 24 hours average ratio of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and Sulphur dioxide (SO2) were 13.

7 �g/m� against yesterday's 16.2 �g/m�and 5.53 �g/m� against earlier day's 5.66 �g/m� respectively against the respective National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS) of 80 �g/m� and 120 �g/m�.

The particulate matter of 2.5 microns (PM2.5) ratio drastically declined to 6.73 �g/m� against theformer day's 16.36 �gm/m� which had previously reached over 32 �g/m� before the current rainfallspell, the report said.
