Joint Efforts Stressed For Promoting Peace In Area: Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman on Tuesday underlined the need for making collective efforts for brotherhood and harmony to achieve durable peace in the area.
GILGIT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman on Tuesday underlined the need for making collective efforts for brotherhood and harmony to achieve durable peace in the area.
Addressing a cultural conference at Karakorum International University here, the CM said that people of GB were hospitable and forthcoming and playing proactive role in promoting soft image of the country.
He said the country especially GB had diverse culture and rich in heritage sites.The students could play important role in projecting these precious asset of culture, he added.
The CM underscored the need for linking the economy with the culture and tradition so that in the present era of culture onslaught, the civilization and local culture of GB could be safeguarded.
By doing so, the CM said that indigenous products of the GB like embroidery, carpets and clocks would be promoted to ensure preservation of its cultural traits.
He said the government was taking measures to inscribing local languages in written shape to protect them from being erosion and passed them onto next generation as legacy.
Shina language which was spoken in most parts of GB, he said, was not given due attention for its promotion by the previous governments.A committee had been constituted to make all local languages as part of syllabus from next academic sessions in educational institutions, he added.
