SWABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Oct, 2022 ) ::Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) District Swabi chapter has condemned the baton charge and tear gas shelling on protesting teachers in Peshawar and said that concerned authorities and ministers should have heard to the demands of teaching community.
In a statement issued here Friday, Amir JUI Swabi and former education minister Moulana Fazal Ali Haqqani said that government should have considered the lawful demands of teachers that were protesting for their rights.
He said the provincial government had acted in an undemocratic way from the last nine years and now it had resorted to the coercive measures rather considering genuine demands of teachers.
Moulana Haqqani demanded that concerns of teachers should be addressed and arrested leaders should be released after withdrawing cases lodged against them.
