KMC Council Approves Eight Resolutions

The City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Monday unanimously approved eight resolutions on subjects including the setting up of fiber optics wires and levying tax on their installation, public private partnership project for establishment of Karachi Theme and Safari Park.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Aug, 2018 ) :The City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Monday unanimously approved eight resolutions on subjects including the setting up of fiber optics wires and levying tax on their installation, public private partnership project for establishment of Karachi Theme and Safari Park.
Posts for provision of medical facilities to the animals of Karachi Zoo and Safari Park were also approved, said a statement on Monday.
Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhter chaired a meeting of the City Council at the KMC Council Hall in the KMC Building here.
The council approved resolution regarding the quarterly payment for annual agreement of repairing and maintenance of three angiography machines of Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KHID), naming of Korangi Creek road or flyover after Shahjahan S. Karim.
The resolutions about repairing and maintenance of residential flats/quarters of the KMC employees and construction of main road of Mewashah graveyard and the nomination of Mayor Karachi as trusty of the KPT board for two years term were also approved.
Addressing the meeting, Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that the KMC Council will support and cooperate with any government who would perform public welfare works.
Those who expressed their views on the above resolutions include opposition leader Karam-ullah Waqasi, Syed Muzammil Shah, Hanif Surti, Aslam Shah Afridi, Ali Raza Baloch, Syed Javed Ali, Tajuddin, Khalil Imam, Ahsan-ullah, Fatima Khan, Amin Khan, Nazar Baloch and Tanvir Khan Judoon.
Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar while addressing the meeting called this good omen that the Independence Day celebrations were held in the city at KMC and district levels in a befitting manner and people took part in those functions beyond their political or other affiliation.
He said, "We pray for four members of this council who are now members of the Sindh Assembly that they perform their better.
He also said to the parliamentary leader Aslam Afridi to change the committee chairmen who are not taking interest in their jobs.
He said that the KMC allocated a huge sum in this year for maintenance of graveyards.
