KP Governor Orders Inquiry Committee To Probe Irregularities In Swabi Varsity

The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Wednesday directed Higher Education Department (HEC) to constitute a special inquiry team to probe illegal appointments and award of fake degrees to students by the University of Swabi and submit report.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Oct, 2018 ) :The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Wednesday directed Higher Education Department (HEC) to constitute a special inquiry team to probe illegal appointments and award of fake degrees to students by the University of Swabi and submit report.

He directed the inquiry committee to identify the irregularities committed in the appointment process to stop the way of corruption in future. He issued these directives while chairing the senate meeting of University of Swabi at Governor House on Wednesday.

The Governor said that corruption and bad practices could not be tolerated at any level.

By ensuring transparency and merit in the higher education institutions we would set an example for other departments, he added.

He said that rules and regulations of University of Swabi must be presented in the next senate meeting for review and approval on the pattern of other provincial varsities.

He emphasized upon adopting financial discipline in preparation of budget and planning. Later the senate gave conditional approval of the current fiscal budget of the University.
