Lahore Transport Company Providing Green Cards To Students

The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has provided green cards to students of the public sector educational institutes as a concessional transport facility.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Oct, 2018 ) :The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has provided green cards to students of the public sector educational institutes as a concessional transport facility.
A spokesman for LTC said the LTC had successfully launched the 'Tap n Pay' service on its buses and had moved further towards cashless e-ticketing system in provincial capital by using NFC based cards which was backed by UBL Omni account.
The UBL Omni account service would now be available free of cost on student green cards to avail the concessional transport facility on LTC buses.
In this regard, an awareness session for students of Information Technology University was organised by teams of UBL and the LTC with the cooperation of ITU at Arfa Software Technology Park Lahore.
The account opening & LTC green card pairing activity has been initiated from September, 2018 in public sector educational institutes, whereas account opening facility would also be available at the nearest UBL Omni Shops.
Since July 2012, the LTC has issued 80,525 student green cards until now, in which 43,286 cards were issued to male students and 37,239 to female students, while this year 4,227 cards have been issued to the public sector educational institutes.
