MUZAFFARABBAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan Saturday asked the world community to see the humanitarian aspect of the Kashmir issue rather than preferring their strategic and economic interests with India.
"The civil society and communities in the United States, the United Kingdom (UK) and other influential countries understand the issue in its true perspective and the media there is ready to listen to us, but the governments are seeing this with the lens of their interests," he added.
Addressing a press conference here after returning home from a visit to the UK and Norway, Masood Khan said concerted efforts of governments and people of Pakistan and AJK were being made to convince the international community and make them see the true picture of the Indian false narrative and atrocities on innocent people so as to find a solution of the longstanding issue and to bring peace and prosperity in the region.
"We should not leave the hope and continue our efforts and struggle adopting new strategies and mechanisms to get their attention and understand the factual position," he added saying raising the issue at the UN Security Council through a new resolution was under consideration at policy level.
However, he was optimistic about the efforts being made by Kashmiri and Pakistani diasporas at abroad to highlight the issue in their respective countries with the objective to create public pressure on respective governments to pay their attention.
He said the Government of Pakistan had sent delegations to different influential capitals and the feedback he received from there showed that they did tremendous job at their level to highlight the issue and a continued process would bring the fruit.
He said all the tactics used by India to suppress the liberation movement or calm down the resilience shown by the Kashmiri people were failed including the use of brutal force and offering economic incentives which was the proof that the occupied valley was not an integral part of India.
"If the Indian claim is true, then why does she deploy more than 700,000 troops in a small valley, besides enforcing black laws?" he questioned. Though India was avoiding plebiscite as pledged (by it according to the United Nations resolutions), a referendum was being held by the Kashmiris against the Indian claims every day, he added.
