Mayor Launches Tree Plantation In Port Qasim

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar Tuesday said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will plant 500,000 saplings with the cooperation of Indus Motors in Karachi to eliminate environmental pollution.
He said this after launching a million tree drive by Indus Motors at the Port Qasim, said a statement.
The Mayor said that the city was facing lots of problems and increasing air pollution was one of these issues. KMC also carrying out tree plantation in its parks and on green belts around 108 roads, he added.
He said that first time in Karachi Sohanjna tree being planted which is beneficial for human health whereas other useful trees like Neem, Gulmore were also being planted in Karachi.
Chief executive of Indus Motors Ali Asghar Jamali said that their automobile company was also working in health and education sectors and this year they have a target to plant one million trees allover the country out of which 5 lac will be planted in Karachi.
