The chairman has also banned the coming of private guests in office and meeting with officials during duty hours.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th December, 2018) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal banned the use of mobile phones for NAB officers during office hours.
According to orders issued by the NAB chairman, wearing of uniforms has also been made mandatory for officers of Grade 18. Biometric system has already started working in NAB officer for ensuring attendance of the officials.
The chairman has also banned the coming of private guests in office and meeting with officials during duty hours.
The private officials could only meet the staff in connection with official works.
Earlier while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Sunday, the NAB chairman said that death penalty on corruption will reduce the population of the country by half.
He said that every step of the NAB is taken only for the improvement of Pakistan and its people. “If an institution is doing its work, why is it criticized,” he added.
Speaking on the suggestion of death penalty on corruption, the NAB chairman said that if the death sentence is awarded on corruption in Pakistan, then half of Pakistan's population will decrease.
He said that the loyalty of the NAB lies with the state only.
“Nobody has any relation with the NAB. When a case comes to us, we do not see any face,” he added.
Pointing out to the critics of NAB, he said that era of Zill-e-Ilahi is over. A common man now has a right to question. People have probably forgotten that this is not the Mughal era.
“What’s the big deal if NAB has questioned how the $95 billion was spent,” he said, adding that we only question keeping in view that no one’s self esteem is hurt.
Those having 70CC motorcycles now have towers in Dubai. If NAB is questioning about these towers then this would happen, Justice (r) Iqbal continued.
We have given a message to the previous and present rulers that whoever is involved in a wrongdoing would have to pay the price, he further said.
He said that the NAB would continue doing its work, whether you continue with propaganda or not.
