NAB Working Under Law: Chairman NAB

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday said the Bureau had no political agenda and it was working under the law of the land.
During his visit to the NAB office Lahore, he said that Bureau's measures to eradicate corruption did not affect the economy of the country. He said that corruption and other elements impacted the country's economy adversely.
He said, neither the NAB was a party in any business in the country, nor any project or contract was impacted by the NAB.
In past, he said, awarding contracts of mega projects to foreign companies had greatly damaged the business community.
Javed Iqbal issued directions to set up business desk to facilitate the business community and redress their grievances.
NAB Director General Lahore Shehzad Saleem briefed the chairman about the investigation of mega corruption cases.
On the occasion, a delegation of Construction Association, body of business community met with the chairman and apprised him about the problems and challenges faced by them.
The delegates said that about 80 percent contracts of national mega projects were awarded to foreign companies in the past. They assured the NAB chairman of their support to the NAB in surfacing corrupt elements in business community.
The representatives of Construction Association also appreciated the measures taken by the NAB for business community.
