No weekend for ministers: PM; directs for JIT on all fire incidents

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2018 ) :Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday directed the Punjab cabinet members to work without any weekend holidays and asked the provincial government to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into and bring out the facts regarding all of the fire incidents took place at various buildings in the past.

Chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet during his visit here, the prime minister directed the cabinet members to expose the corruption committed in the past. During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed about the update on implementation of 100-days agenda of the PTI government.

He said the ministers should apprise the people of the situation of their respective departments and tell them as how the rulers had been living luxurious lives using the public money.

He said the people had re-elected the PTI in KP just because the party had focused their uplift and established meritocracy by depoliticising the institutions of education, health and police.

The prime minister told the cabinet that the people were keenly observing their performance as they had pinned high hopes at them and they never expected them to carry out old-styled politics.

He said the PTI had given the people a new thinking and focused the human development.

Premier Imran asked the Punjab cabinet to tell the people as how the previous governments took heavy loans compelling the new government to take more loans to pay the interest amount on previous loans.

The ministers should explore the out-of-box solutions of the problems and carry out the audit of all mega projects besides publicizing the performance of previous government during last ten years, he said.

The prime minister also directed to establish a complaint cell at the Chief Minister Office to address the complaints of the people as well as their representatives.

He also called for finalization of the local government system within 48 hours as the devolution of powers to lowest level would bring about the real change.

During the briefing, the prime minister was told that the process for distribution of Health Insaf Cards in 36 districts of Punjab would be accomplished within next two months. The health card would provide a medical cover of around Rs 360,000 to each family and around six million families would benefit from the program.

The meeting was told that the process for recruitment of 7,000 doctors, 2,500 nurses and improvement of equipment in 40 hospitals had been completed to enure uplift of healthcare facilities int he province.

The prime minister was also briefed on the measures taken for the uplift of the other sectors including agriculture, water resources, labor and workers welfare, tourism and education.
