Ombudsman Resolves 18,620 Complaints Against NADRA

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Dec, 2016 ) : Federal Ombudsman Office has resolved 18,620 complaints against National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and provided relief to thousands of residents and Overseas Pakistanis during the last three years.
Registrar/Senior Advisor (Law) and Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar in a statement issued here on Thursday said these complaints were related to grievances raised by the complainants generally to issuance of Computerized Identity Card (CNIC), renewal of CNIC, Pakistan Origin Cards, Children Registration (B-Form) and issuance or delay in NICOP.
He said systemic issues, including easy automation NICOP, POC and their early process of around 8.4 million Overseas Pakistanis had also been taken into consideration and complaints related to these issues were being addressed within 45 days.
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar said not only the complaints had been received inside Pakistan but also had been received from overseas Pakistanis living in New Zealand, Holland, Germany, Italy, USA, middle East and many other countries.
He said against findings of the Wafaqi Mohtasib, only 34 representations were filed before the President of Pakistan and amongst these representations 11 had been decided and the President was pleased to uphold the findings of Wafaqi Mohtasib in 19 cases which was almost more than 99%.
Khokhar said the efforts of Wafaqi Mohtasib Office in amelioration of miseries had been highly appreciated by the citizen of Pakistan and from overseas Pakistanis and office of Grievance Commissioner for overseas Pakistanis had received many letters of thanks from public inside and outside Pakistan.
He said now all complaints including against NADRA were being decided in 45 days in federal ombudsman secretariat which was unprecedented in the judicial systems of world. Khokhar said for early resolution of complaints of overseas Pakistanis individual and systemic issues, skype and videos links meetings were being conducted regularly with Pakistani community living around the world in Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for early resolution of their grievances in minimum time.
