OPC Retrieves Nearly 6,000 Kanals Of Overseas Pakistanis

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2017 ) :Director General, Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Syed Javed Iqbal Bukhari here on Monday said that 6000 Kanals of land belonged to overseas Pakistanis have been retrieved from illegal occupants.
Similarly, 170 plots and houses worth Rs 600 million, occupied by land grabbers, were also retrieved and handed over to owners (Overseas Pakistanis) after intervention by Overseas Pakistanis Commission.
Javed Iqbal Bukhari said this while giving briefing to Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Muhammad Afzaal Bhatti and Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Ahmed Butt. He informed that Overseas Pakistanis Commissions were working at district level and nobody would be allowed to occupy properties of overseas Pakistanis.
OPC Commissioner Muhammad Afzaal Bhatti also briefed the participants and said that OPC had resolved nearly 50 percent complaints registered by Overseas Pakistanis. He informed that a separate bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) had also been introduced to resolve cases of Overseas Pakistanis, following direction from Chief Justice LHC.
Similarly, the LHC has also issued instructions to district and sessions judges to constitute courts to respond cases of Overseas Pakistanis. About Multan division performance, Commissioner Multan Bilal Ahmed Butt maintained that out of total 322 cases, they had resolved 80 cases.
However, another 71 cases are near completion and hoped that these would be resolved very soon. Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Muhammad Ali Khokhar expressed satisfaction over the performance of District Overseas Pakistanis Commissions.
He stated that district administration and police were working good to deliver timely relief to the Overseas Pakistan. DIG Police Agha Yousuf informed that Police was playing its important role in different cases including land grabbing, abduction for ransom, travel agents and issues pertaining to business shareholding.
On this occasion, Regional Police Officer Muhammad Idrees, Director Revenue Eshrat Ullah Niazi, CPO Muhammad Saleem, DPOs, and DCOs of Vehari and Khanewal were also present.
