Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said Parliament was the best forum to discuss national issues and unity was the only way to ensure peace and stability.
Speaking on a point of order, the minister said he acknowledges and salutes the resolve of the Prime Minister Imran Khan who adopted bold attitude against protests in the country on Asia Bibi's acquittal following court's order.
He said opposition leaders including Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari assured their full cooperation to the government to overcome challenges.
The minister said Shehbaz Sharif opposed the use of force and ensured support to the government.
He said we all were Muslims and true lovers of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Those damaging the property of others would not be spared, the minister added.
Earlier, the House witnessed exchange of hot words between treasury and opposition lawmaker on which Ali Muhamamd Khan said he would oppose non-parliamentary words and ask for expunging these words.
Earlier, PML-N MNA Ahsan Iqbal said proceedings of the National Assembly should be run on the basis of mutual respect.
MNA Rana Sanaullah said the government should clarify about the status of Asia Bibi whether she was under custody or not.
MNA Shazia Mari said it was the responsibility of the government to ensure peaceful atmosphere for their people so that they could send their children to schools without any fear.
To an issue highlighted by MNA Shazia Mari, the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar gave a ruling and said he would not allow anyone to target or criticize any tribe or clan.
