PBM's IFA Programme Helping The Poor To Come Out Of Vicious Poverty Circle

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal's pro poor initiatives especially, Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) programme has proved beneficial for the poor to come out of vicious poverty circle.
According to official sources, through Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) the poor, widows, destitute women, orphans and disabled persons are being supported through general assistance, education, medical treatment and rehabilitation.
The assistance is provided to the needy individuals on first come first serve basis having no support or source of income in following order of priority including the poor suffering misery and unable to overcome circumstances within available resources. The victims of sudden fall in economic status due to unpredictable circumstances. A person suffering with severe physical or mental disability and unable to earn a livlihood.
According to criteria for IFA eligibility, the monthly income of the deserving should not be more than Rs 15,000.
A deserving woman who is a widow or divorced or separated with liability to raise her children with no source or regular source of income. An invalid or infirm person secluded from family or deprived of relatives and having no source of income.
Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal was running Pakistan Sweet Homes, Child Support Programme, Thalassemia Centre, Great Homes, Vocational Training Centres and National Centre for Rehabilitation of Child Labour.
During July 2017 to February 2018, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has disbursed an amount of Rs 2,429 million through its core projects/ schemes including Individual Financial Assistance (IFA). The poor, widows, destitute women and orphans were supported for medical treatment, education, rehabilitation and general assistance. vocational, social institutions and hospitals, etc.
