PM Congratulates New Malaysian Counterpart On Poll Victory

Islamabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2018) : Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday telephoned his newly elected Malaysian counterpart Dr Mahathir Mohamad and congratulated him on election victory.

During the telephonic conversation, both the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen their bilateral relations.

They also exchanged views on the issues facing the Muslim Ummah including Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

PM Abbasi extended an invitation to the Malaysian premier to visit Pakistan. He lauded peaceful conduct of elections and the transfer of power to the next government in Malaysia. Earlier this month, Mahathir, 92, won a historic election victory in a political earthquake that toppled the country's scandal-plagued premier and ousted a regime that had ruled for over six decades.
