PMDC To Approve New Medical Colleges On Merit

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd September, 2016) : Pakistan Medical and Dental Council's (PMDC) Executive Committee has decided that all new medical and dental colleges will be recognized in accordance with the rules and regulations.
According to an official of PMDC, almost 15 new applications have been forwarded by the Federal government to the PMDC as many public and private medical dental colleges have requested for enhancement of annual seats which will only be considered after having inspections by PMDC.
He said that PMDC will not compromise on over admissions by the medical dental colleges and in future, strict disciplinary action will be initiated against the colleges.
He said that the Minister for National Health Services Sara Afzal Tarar was showing full support in uplifting the image of PMDC and assured to improve the working of PMDC in order to maintain a good relationship of the council with all the international medical and dental organizations.
He said that the PMDC council members were trying their best to uplift the working and functioning of the PMDC. He said that more than 17 cases of medical and dental PhD qualifications were also considered in the meeting but referred to SRC medical as these programs were not registered with PMDC which was mandatory requirement of PMDC Ordinance 1962.
