Political, global leaders condole Begum Kulsoom Nawaz's demise

The condolences for the departed Begum Kulsoom Nawaz continued at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's residence at Jati Umra, where Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were reaching to express their sorrow and grief with the bereaved family.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :The condolences for the departed Begum Kulsoom Nawaz continued at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's residence at Jati Umra, where Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were reaching to express their sorrow and grief with the bereaved family.

The demise of former first lady was widely condoled across the political divide alongwith global leaders, expressing their heartfelt feelings since Tuesday.

Turkish President Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his message, expressed his heartiest grief over the sad demise of Begum Kulsoom's death and prayed for eternal peace of the deceased soul and extended his sympathies with the Sharif family.

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were among the dignitaries, who expressed profound grief and sorrow over her death.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed his grief and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

"May Allah bless the departed soul eternal peace at Heaven-Amen", Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor quoted COAS as saying on his official Ttwitter handle.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar also expressed deep grief and prayed to the Almighty to shower His blessings upon the departed soul.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser also expressed grief over the death of Begum Kulsoom.

They prayed to Allah Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and solace to the bereaved family.

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples' Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also expressed grief over her death.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani sent his condolences to the bereaved family while Awami National Party leader Asfandyar Wali, in his condolence message, said Begum Kulsoom Nawaz fought against the dictatorship.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi termed Begum Kulsoom's death a huge loss for the Sharif family.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders had reached Nawaz Sharif's residence on Wednesday to offer condolence over the sad demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

Prominent amongst others who reached Jati Umra included Senator Asif Kirmani, Senator Dr Ghaus Niaizi, Javed Hashmi, Khurram Dastagir, Rana Tanvir Hussain, Pervaiz Malik, and Khawaja Imran Nazir.

They expressed mixed sentiments over the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz saying every Pakistani was saddened over this tragic incident.

They termed passing of Kulsoom a great loss for the family and her services for democracy would be long remembered.

Meanwhile, senior politician Javed Hashmi told media, Kulsoom Nawaz was a brave lady who fought for democracy and their comrade in political struggle. "She was bearing the fatal disease of cancer for a year", he mourned.

Khurram Dastagir said, an era of bravery and courage had ended and addeed, "Kulsoom Nawaz had rendered sacrifices for democracy". He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Nawaz Sharif's health was reported as sick and he was unable to meet the guests reaching for condolence of his wife due to his weak physical condition.

PML-N official spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb told media that guests coming for condolence have been requested to visit from 1600 hours to 1800 hours in the evening to express their sympathies with bereaved family.
