PPP Believes In Democracy: Gilani

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2018 ) ::Former prime minister and PPP Vice Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) believed in democracy and always worked for strengthening it and rule of law in the country.
The general election should be held on time in a free, fair and transparent manner, he said while talking to media persons after offering Eid prayer here at Musa Pak Shaheed shrine.
He said that eradication of extremism was vital for the country's prosperity. He recalled that Swat operation was conducted during the PPP regime due to which Mullah Fazlullah fled to Afghanistan, from where he continued working against the sovereignty of Pakistan.
He said the PPP government had restored peace in Swat.
Gilani also prayed for the good health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
