Karachi/mithi, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2018) : Vice President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the PTI is fighting from rights of the people of Tharparkar, adversely ignored by the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for the last 10 years.
He expressed these views in a telephonic address to PTI Workers Convention in Mithi on Wednesday. The Convention was organized under the supervision of PTI Minority Wing Sindh leader Pardeep Menghwar and attended by a large number of party workers.
Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Tharparkar is a backward area of Sindh and for last 10 years, the PPP government has not carried out any development work here. He said PTI has always talked about the rights of minorities and we will continue to raise voice for them.
He said during the distribution of wheat in Thar, the corrupt rulers favored their own workers and gave nothing to the poor people. He said after coming into power we will give the people of Thar their due rights.
PTI Sindh Senior Executive Vice President Haleem Adil Sheikh said the time has passed when the rulers used to loot the resources of poor people. He said chairman PTI Imran Khan after coming into power would go for accountability of everyone.
He said Tharparkar is rich in the coal, which is called black gold but this area is still home of abject poverty, hunger and diseases. He said poor children are dying due to lack of proper diet and medical facilities.
Haleem Adil said that the rulers have befooled the people in the name of health, education and jobs.
He said they are saying that Bhutto is alive, but the fact is that Bhutto has already passed away, and people could not be hoodwinked further with this slogan.
He said the rulers have made airport in Thar for their own benefit, while the poor people of Thar have no benefit of this airport. He said billions of rupees have been embezzled by the corrupt rulers in the name of development in Thar.
He said the corrupt rulers established poor quality RO Plants that have now become non-functional The PTI Sindh Senior Executive Vice President said in the general elections of 2018 there would be not one Makhdoom but two Makhdooms to contest polls against the PPP.
He said we are holding talks with Makhdoom Jameeluzzam and soon he would hopefully join PTI. He said now time has changed and there would be one standard of justice for both rich and poor. He said the nation is awake now due to the struggle of Imran Khan.
He said local people were not given jobs in Thar coal projects and people from other areas were recruited, violating the rights of local people. He said this time the PPP would hardly find any candidate from entire Thar to contest polls on its ticket.
PTI Minority Wing Sindh president Jay Parkash Ukrani, Lala Ameenullah Moosakhel, PTI Mirpurkhas Division President Akbar Pali, general secretary Chanesar Aresar, Mahesh Kumar, Baghwandas and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
