Private Hospital Fined Rs 0.5 Million Over Violating Parameters

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Dec, 2018 ) ::Munawar Hospital, a private facility of Pensara Faisalabad, has been fined Rs 0.5 million and directed by the Punjab Healthcare Commission to stop conducting all types of operations forthwith.
According to a spokesman of Healthcare Commission, a citizen, Barkhurdar, filed a complaint that he brought his pregnant wife at Munawar Hospital Pensara where Dr. Muhammad Zahid and a unqualified lady doctor, Robina Munawar Wahla, conducted delivery operation without ultrasound. After operation, bleeding was not stopped. Therefore, the patient had to shift Allied Hospital Faisalabad in emergency.
During investigation, the allegations were proved.
It also came into light that Dr. Muhammad Zahid was an ENT specialist and he also failed to hire services of a competent anesthetist rather he performs himself the duties of anesthetist for gyne operation.
The investigation further revealed that the hospital was also violating parameters set for provision of health care facilities. Therefore, the Healthcare Commission took the action and imposed fine of Rs 0.5 million and prohibited the hospital administration for any surgery/operation forthwith.
The commission also imposed fine of Rs 50,000 on Nurse Robina Munawar Wahla on charge of dubbing herself a qualified lady doctor and conducting gyne operation, spokesman added.
