PTI Leaders Asks Nation To Donate More To Dam Funds

PTI Leaders on Saturday appealed to the nation to graciously donate in the dam fund created by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2018 ) :PTI Leaders on Saturday appealed to the nation to graciously donate in the dam fund created by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Talking to ptv, the PTI leaders said, Pakistan wastes 80 per cent of its water and if this trend continues by 2025 there will be a massive shortage of water in the country.

MNA Zertaj Gul said that the incumbent government has taken up the issue of construction of new dams seriously and started working on the issue in order to overcome water shortage and energy crisis in the country.

However, the PTI-led government and Pakistan Army are fully supporting the CJP's initiative in this regard. It is a good omen that the main stakeholders including the judiciary, executive and army are on same page on the water issue, adding that opposition parties should also involve in the process of collecting donation for dams.

She said that agriculture, industry and the country's future depend on dams but some elements have been doing politics on water and dams since long and are still attempting to damage the public welfare projects.

"The country is becoming a desert, but the tendency of opposition to dams continues unabated", she highlighted.

MNA Nooreen said, construction of new dams on immediate basis is need of the hour and Pakistanis must contribute in this noble cause.

She said it was appreciable that Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar started a campaign for this noble cause, adding that we were not in a position to take more loans from international community.

It is test of the nation to take part in this fund raising campaign and help the government to construct dams to save our future generation, she stressed.

"Delay in the construction of dams will not only damage Pakistan beyond repair but also result in a civil war," she warned.

PTI leader Andleeb Abbas said Pakistanis must donate in this regard, as construction of new dams on immediate basis is need of the hour.

She also welcomed the initiative and urged the media to project the national cause for great masses contribution in the fund for a national cause.
