Reforms In Bureaucracy On Cards: Info Minister

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government was bringing reforms in bureaucracy to enhance efficiency.
We want to change the typical mind set in bureaucracy, he stated in an interview with private news channel programe.
The government wanted to bridge the gap being observed in communication, he said.
There was also need to do capacity building in the institutions, the information minister said.
Lamenting on the slow process of disposing of cases of political figures like Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, he said that the political leaders knew well about the system and nobody could harm them due to slackness in system.
It was strange that no charges were framed against Nawaz Sharif and Mariyum Nawaz. This was a system flaw which the government wanted to rectify or revamp the system through reforms in days to come, Fawad Chaudhry said. There was need to address governance issue, he added.
To a question, he said that PPP had been ruling over Sindh for the last twenty years and the same was the case in Balochistan and both the provinces lag behind in development.
The previous governments did nothing for Sindh and Balochistan development, he said.
Besides, agriculture reforms, he said that the government was focusing on poverty alleviation and better delivery system so that promises made with the people before forming the government could be fulfilled in a befitting manner.
To a question, he said in Punjab, we found that some traditional political leaders or dynasty had controlled the powers. There was need to change or bring reforms there too, he said.
As far as progress in PIA and other institutions was concerned, he said everybody knows whats going on in these institutions.
In reply to a question, he said that soon the big fish involved in corruption would be behind the bars.
Appreciating the working of Hamad Azhar and Khusroo Bakhtiar, he said they are working very hard to streamline the system in their respective fields.
Commenting on Prime Minister's perception, he said Imran Khan was very sincere and he wanted to implement what he said during election campaign.
He said reforms in NAB are imperative for achieving results.
