ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Oct, 2016 ) : The Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that right to peacefully protest to express aspirations and demand for self-determination is Kashmiris' fundamental right and cannot be extinguished from their hearts and souls.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the use of force on peaceful protesters in the territory. He said that with each passing day, the war against Kashmiri people was getting more and more ruthless, relentless and inhuman.
"Gruesome rights violations, mass and arbitrary arrests and all forms of crackdowns were getting harsher and harder.
Censorship and gagging was at its peak," he said. "The attacks on Kashmiri students as seen in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh are all time high as the activists and supporters of rightwing groups whose support base is considerably widening are harassing and humiliating them, is a cause of serious concern.
At Global College of Law in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Kashmiri students were not only harnessed but also looted and robbed by the rightwing activists," the spokesman said. He said that the authorities of these institutes and government of these India states had a moral responsibility to ensure safety of Kashmiri students studying there.
