
Rs 4 Bln Allocated For Irrigation Reforms

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th August, 2016) : The Punjab government has allocated Rs 4 billion for reforms and improvement of Irrigation system in the province. A spokesman of the Water Management Department said here on Monday that 12000 water channels would be brick lined besides introducing drip irrigation system for 15000 acres of land across the Punjab.
The farmers would also be persuaded for the use of latest technologies for the irrigation of their crops as new technologies would not only help in overcoming water shortage but it will also help in lessening financial burden of the peasants, he added.
