Saaf Pani: Court Extends Judicial Remand Of Qamar, Waseem

An accountability court on Thursday extended judicial remand of two former officials of Saaf Pani Company in a corruption case.
The court extended the judicial remand of Engineer Qamarul islam and Waseem Ajmal for another 11 days with a direction to produce them again on expiry of remand term.
Accountability Court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan conducted the case proceedings, whereas, the accused were also produced in the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that Islam has served as the chief executive officer of the Saaf Pani Company. He is accused of having awarded contracts for water treatment plants at a higher price. His predecessor Ajmal is also accused in the case.
Saaf Pani Company is one among 56 public limited companies formed by the PML-N government soon after assuming power inthe province in 2013.
