The Saudi Arabia government hasn't abolished Hajj and Umrah free of 2,000 riyals despite of PTI government repeated requests
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th March, 2019) The Saudi Arabia government hasn't abolished Hajj and Umrah free of 2,000 Riyals despite of PTI government repeated requests.The inner sources stated that Saudi Arabia government earlier assured the PTI leadership to abolish Hajj and Umrah free of 2,000 riyals but notification in this regard not issued yet.The Saudi government had earlier announced to waive 2,000 riyals tax imposed on Pakistanis performing Umrah every year on the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to the Kingdom, had requested Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud to abolish the fee.
The matter was still on the same spot despite of government repeated request. The pilgrims those who were willing to perform Umrah in the forthcoming month of Ramazan have to pay 2, 000 riyals.It earlier stated that Prime minister took up the matter with Saudi authorities and they agreed to waive it off and it was just a matter of time when they notify the policy.
