ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Nov, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Additional Advocate General (AAG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to complete investigation into the killing of four girls and two boys in Kohistan in 2012, within a month.
A two-judge bench headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard a sou moto notice taken on a video regarding the killings on the reports that some clerics had allegedly issued orders for their murder.
During the course of proceedings, the AAG told the court that the Peshawar forensic laboratory had failed to identify the girls seen in the video. The quality of video was poor and the laboratory did not have the latest equipment to identify the parsons accurately.
The court pointed out that it had earlier ordered that the video be sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) for testing as they had better devices.
To this, the AAG said the video was not sent to the PFSA. However, investigation was under way, which needed more time.
Justice Ahsan mentioned that two members of the forensic board had agreed that the girls in the video were the same as the ones which had been killed, while only one member had different view.
The AAG requested the court to give two months time to the investigation team to complete their work. The court, however, gave one month time to the team to complete the probe and adjourned the case.
