Secretary health visits Lahore General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences

Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Saqib Zafar paid a surprise visit to Lahore General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) on Saturday.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2018 ) :Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical education Saqib Zafar paid a surprise visit to Lahore General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) on Saturday.

The secretary visited different departments of the hospital, including medical and surgical emergency, operation theaters, ICU, indoor wards, MRI, laboratory, dengue counter and washrooms.

Saqib Zafar went to patients individually and inquired after their health besides asking about the health facilities provided by the hospital's administration.

Principal PGMI Prof Agha Shabeer Ali, Medical Superintendent Dr Mehmood Salauddin, Nursing Superintendent and other administrative doctors were also present.

Saqib Zafar checked the operation theaters, ICU, pharmacy and dengue counter. He also reviewed the cleanliness condition in the hospital especially in washrooms. Due to the rush of public in the emergency, the secretary ordered that one patient one attendant policy should be implemented to reduce rush of attendants for better healthcare of patients.

Moreover, the secretary directed to construct more sheds for the attendants of the patients.

Principal PGMI Prof Agha Shabeer Ali while briefing the secretary said that Lahore General Hospital was known for treatment of brain diseases and head injuries and a large number of patients come to the hospital for their treatment.

He told that on average six thousand patients per day visited LGH for the treatment. Moreover, evening shift of OPD was also being run in LGH.

The secretary said the health sector was always a priority of every government and government endeavoured hard to provide the best treatment facilities to people.

He directed the hospital's administration that they should continue provision of quality healthcare services to patients.

He would continue surprise visits of hospitals to ensure quality health services for patients, the secretary concluded.
