KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Sindh High Court (SHC) Thursday granted bail to former Provincial Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon till November 14.
A division bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto granted the bail to Sharjeel against a surety bond of Rs 2 million in a case relating to illegal allotment of state land and adjustment of the land.
The court directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) not to arrest Sharjeel Memon on his arrival in the country. The court observed that Sharjeel was given almost the time of one month, however, he had failed to appear before the court and under such circumstances the court granted bail to him till November 14 instead of requested November 29.
He was directed to turn up before the Nazir of the court and deposit his original passport. Sharjeel's Advocate Faiz Shah informed the court that the NAB had issued a call-up notice to his client on October 18, 2016 asking him to appear before it with regard to the investigation.
Sharjeel wanted to appear before it and face the investigation but he was worried about his unlawful arrest, he added. Due to the reason, the court was pleaded to grant bail to him.
