Sheikh Rashid Gives Away Railway Plot For Building School For Visually Impaired

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th December, 2018) Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid has announced to allot a railway plot to build a school for visually impaired children.
According to media reports, Sheikh Rashid while announcing to give a plot for blind children’s school said that the railway ticket is absolutely free for the visually impaired people.
The railway minister further said that he will give a plot for constructing the school for visually impaired for just Rs 1 per month.
The minister said that he wishes to do something big for the differently abled people.
He further announced soon initiating a mega project for the people of Rawalpindi. He said that he wants Prime Minister Imran Khan to inaugurate these projects.
Sheikh Rashid took charge of the Railway Ministry after 12 years with his election in this year’s poll.
On Saturday, Sheikh Rashid said the Railways earned record income of Rs 453.40 million during the first week of December.
He said the railways had earned Rs 261.20 million in the first week of December 2017.
He said the department had saved 650,000-litre fuel despite starting 20 new trains during the last three months.
Meanwhile, the government has been working to uplift the status of differently abled persons and provide them will all the possible facilities.
Earlier in March, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) had announced 50 per cent discount for visually impaired citizens in motels and hotels of PTDC.
Moreover, the National library of Pakistan (NLP) had established a well-equipped computer lab facility for the visually impaired persons, as a part of its efforts to provide reading facilities to the persons with disabilities.
