Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Nov, 2016 ) : Four ships Maersk Stepnica, GSW Future, Ardmore Duntless and Sea Marshal carrying containers chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ships Atlantic Glory, Taliba and Rise Fortune with chemicals, canola seeds and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the port at fifty three percent on Wednesday where a total of eight ships namely ships CMA CGM Uruguany, Maersk Stepnica, Thai Binh Bey, Ping An Song, Unico Sienna, GSW Future, Ardmore Duntless and Sea Marshal are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, project cargo, fertilizer, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 117,745 tonnes, comprising 74,275 tonnes import cargo and 43,470 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,700 containers TEUs) 1,500 imports TUEs & 2,200 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Chemicals carrier GSW Future sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships, container vessel CMA CGM Urguany and Oil Tanker Sea Marshal are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Three ships, Atlantic Glory, CMA CGM Maupassant and New Confidence carrying chemicals, containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Engro Terminal, Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Thursday.
