Shopkeepers Arrested For Overcharging

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd August, 2016) : The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its drive against hoarding and profiteering on Wednesday and arrested 110 shopkeepers for overcharging.
As many as 60 cases were registered against violators of the Price Act and CDGL teams sent 39 out of total 110 shopkeepers to prison for three days after summary trial.
The CDGL special price control magistrates conducted raids on 926 shops in various areas of the city and inspected price of commodities.
As many as 21 shopkeepers were challaned and fine was imposed worth Rs 25,500. The district administration issued directions to the town administrators and price control magistrates to continue crackdown on profiteers.
