SSGC disconnects gas to Textile factory in Karachi

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) showing zero tolerance against gas thieves in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, in a raid disconnected gas supply to Kassim Textile Mill, one of Asia's leading textile mills located in Karachi's Landhi industrial.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Oct, 2018 ) :Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) showing zero tolerance against gas thieves in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, in a raid disconnected gas supply to Kassim Textile Mill, one of Asia's leading textile mills located in Karachi's Landhi industrial.

According to SSGC statement on Monday, SSGC team along with Intelligence Wing reached Kassim Textile Mill for inspection on a tip from intelligence sources that Mill management has been violating gas sales agreement.

The Mill administration did not allow the raiding party to enter the premises and closed all the entry points.

In accordance with Section 23 of Gas (Theft Control and Recovery Act) 2016 passed by the National Assembly, the gas supply line of Mill was disconnected.

Plastic Moulding Works in Liaquatabad was also raided where gas theft was found through tampering with SSGC gas meter. Gas was being stolen at 290 cubic feet per hour. The claim will be raised against the factory in accordance with the load.

Another raid was conducted on a sweet shop in Madina Colony, FB area where shop owner was using gas direct from main line. The owner was arrested.
