ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2018 ) :Despite on-going social media campaign 'Boycott Murree', the inflation is on increasing trend as reported during the present tourism season.
The social media campaign was launched recently to stop visiting Murree due to high rates of hotels and transporters' misbehaving with tourists.
About 10 to 15 million tourists visit Murree each year, even in summers thousands of tourists also spend nights on roadsides.
Now when the tourists started visiting Murree in current hot weather in rest of the country, they complained about overcharging of rents of hotels, meals and shopping accessories in Murree.
Shoaib Qureshi a tourist said "as I am nature lover and came here with my family from Lahore but high prices of accommodations compelling me to go back".
"Moreover misconduct of hotel staff and lack of management irking most of the visitors including me", he added.
He said that mistreating of locals has been leaving very bad impression on people who use to come from various cities to enjoy".
Muhammad Noshad, an owner of local hotel said inflation always been very high in Murree but now social media campaign against Murree is just to create propaganda which is totally unfair and causing negative impacts on local business.
