Traffic Police Issues Advisory For Visitors To Murree

City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi on Monday advised the motorists visiting Murree to keep air pressure in their vehicle's tyres low to drive safely on the slippery roads, besides keeping the fuel tanks topped up to safely drive through long traffic jams.
In an traffic advisory issued ahead of tourists influx to the Queen of Mountains, the police also advised the motorists to ensure their car batteries were fully charged and vehicles were mechanically fit. The drivers have also been asked not to run their vehicles on CNG, a low power fuel.
The police have established an emergency Helpline (051-9269200) for facilitating the tourists round the clock. The Helpline Center would also serve as a Control Room from where all possible facilities would be provided to the tourists, A police spokesman told APP that a greater number of traffic wardens, traffic wardens had been deployed, under the supervision of inspectors, at all important points, while several points had been reserved for car parking.
The main roads including Mall Road, Kuldana Road and Kashmir Point Road have been closed for two way traffic, he said and asked the motorists to cooperate with traffic police to avoid any traffic mess, particularly during snowfall.
Drivers have also been directed not to park their vehicles on roadsides which could lead to traffic congestion.
The City Traffic Officer, he said, was himself was monitoring the overall traffic situation and arrangements in Murree and directed the traffic police officers to make their best efforts for managing the extraordinary traffic flow.
